The debut DMC12 CD is the brainchild of two very warped but talented minds: DJ Deluxo and John Kudlacek.

Named after the infamous, iconic, and instantly recognizable DeLorean car, DMC12 pays homage to the legends and pioneers of synth-pop artists like New Order, Depeche Mode, Yaz, OMD, Gary Numan, Human League, Kraftwerk, Thomas Dolby, and others

The debut DMC12 CD is the brainchild of two very warped but talented minds: DJ Deluxo and John Kudlacek.

Named after the infamous, iconic, and instantly recognizable DeLorean car, DMC12 pays homage to the legends and pioneers of synth-pop artists like New Order, Depeche Mode, Yaz, OMD, Gary Numan, Human League, Kraftwerk, Thomas Dolby, and others whose primary sound is based on synthesizers, keyboards, electronic drums, audio samples, and catchy melodies. In other words, like a less Industrial but more sympathetic Ministry

DMC12 (aka Digital Music Conservation) uses some of the best vintage synthesizers and drum machines by Fairlight, Roland, Korg, Oberheim, Akai, and Electric Dream Planet. They make use of plug-in’s from Arturia and others, and a new category of hardware clones from Roland Boutique and Behringer.

To be clear, DMC12 does NOT cover songs by those legendary bands. Let me repeat: DMC12 is NOT a cover band. They write their own material, creating electronic music inspired by the sounds of the '80s but using contemporary EDM production values and mixing techniques. Their goal? To blind you with science...er, music.

DJ Deluxo and Kudlacek met while working for synthesizer/sampling pioneer Fairlight in the '90s. In fact, they both took part in a Fairlight after-hours jam in which they both inadvertently gave Steve Chen the idea for YouTube. But that’s a story for another article.

During the recent COVID-19 pandemic they reconnected via an AIM chatroom (it was really via Facebook, which still isn’t as cool as AIM if we’re being honest). And through some late-night (for East Coast-based DJ Deluxo) / early morning (for Okinawa-based Kudlacek) discussions, rekindled their passion for the electronic music of the late ‘70s and ‘80s.

And since DJ Deluxo is also a “Back to the Future” fanatic AND the proud owner of his very own DeLorean car VIN 3366, it only made sense to pay homage to their mutual passions with the band name as well. And faster than you can fire up 1.21 gigawatts, DMC12 was born!

You guys might not be ready for this yet...but your kids are gonna love it! Ah hell, you’ll love it, too!

After a year of Socially distant recording DMC12 is releasing it’s first self titled CD. The Delorean on used on the cover was not DJ Deluxo’s. DMC12 used there favorite Delorean Photographer Luis Ignacio’s DMC and Super Model Carmen Rios.

The CD was really created for Delorean owners to have some new original 80’s inspired synth music to listen to on long drives.

All proceeds go to maintaining DJ Deluxo’s ride!

Hey, if DMC12 sell allot maybe they will release a cassette version.
